Armed Forces Day 24 June 2023

Armed Forces Day in the UK is an opportunity to show support and appreciation for the men and women who serve in the country's armed forces.

This year Armed Forces Day will take place on 24th June 2023. It is a day to honour their sacrifices and commitment to keeping the country safe, as well as to recognise the families who support them. By participating in Armed Forces Day events and activities, people can show their gratitude and demonstrate their commitment to supporting the armed forces community.

The UDSS team will be marking this year's Armed Forces Day by taking part in local parades and events in support of both Reserve and Cadet Forces. If your business, school, college or community would like a UDSS member to attend your event as a guest speaker, please get in touch via UDSS' Communications Team.

Armed Forces Day is celebrated with parades, military displays, and other events. It is a time for communities to come together to show support and appreciation for the sacrifices made by those who serve, and to raise awareness about the important role that the armed forces play in keeping the country safe.

Here's what Armed Forces Day 2022 looked like in Edinburgh:

Armed Forces Day in the UK was started to show support and appreciation for the men and women who serve in the country's armed forces. It is a day to acknowledge their contributions, both past and present, and to celebrate the work they do to keep the country safe. The first Armed Forces Day was held in 2009 and is celebrated annually on the last Saturday in June.
