On Saturday 28th June 2025, the UK will once again come together to mark Armed Forces Day — a national moment to honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who protect our country, at home and abroad.
At Universal Defence and Security Solutions (UDSS), we are proud to stand alongside our Armed Forces community, recognising not just the individuals in uniform, but also the families and reservists who support them, and the wider ecosystem that enables the UK’s defence posture.
This year’s Armed Forces Day comes just weeks after the release of the UK’s Strategic Defence Review (SDR) 2025 — a landmark document that recognises the shifting global threat landscape, from great power competition and state-sponsored cyber warfare, to irregular conflict, hybrid aggression, and disruptive emerging technologies.
In this context, Armed Forces Day takes on even greater significance. It is not only a time to celebrate service and tradition, but also to acknowledge the evolving role of our Armed Forces in a world that is becoming more complex, contested, and connected.
Defence in a More Dangerous World
The SDR 2025 sets a clear tone: the UK must prepare for warfighting readiness, with an armed force that is more integrated, adaptable, and technologically advanced. Our military personnel are not just defenders of the realm, they are frontline responders in an era of grey zone conflict, digital warfare, and global instability.
That future is already here, and it’s our people, soldiers, sailors, airmen and women, marines, reservists, and cadets who will carry this transformation forward.
UDSS and Armed Forces Day
This year, the UDSS team will be marking Armed Forces Day by participating in community events, supporting Reserve and Cadet Forces activities, and continuing our work with partners across defence, industry, and government to help shape the future force the UK needs.
As Gold Award holders under the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, we remain committed to supporting the Armed Forces community — not just in words, but through action.
If your organisation, school, or event would benefit from hearing from one of our expert speakers — many of whom are former Chiefs, senior officers, and defence specialists — please contact our Communications Team. We are always honoured to contribute to community awareness and national dialogue.
Armed Forces Day 2025 is a timely reminder that the strength of our nation’s defence lies not just in platforms or policy, but in people — people who step forward, train hard, deploy at short notice, and serve with professionalism, courage, and humility.
At UDSS, we salute them — and we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring they have the strategies, systems, and support they need in a rapidly changing world.
To those who serve, have served, and support those who do — thank you.
